25 Foods That Can Ruin Your Stabilization Efforts on HCG Diet Phase 3
After completing the core 500-calorie phase of the HCG drops diet and finishing up your HCG diet drops, the last thing you want to do is ruin your dieting efforts and end up gaining back all that weight you lost. You want to treat the HCG diet's phase 3 (the stabilization phase) seriously and make sure that the weight stays off for good.Dr. Simeons says the following about the 3-week stabilization phase of the HCG diet:
- "All foods allowed except starch and sugar in any form (careful with very sweet fruit)."
- "If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally... but as soon as fat and starch are combined things are very liable to get out of hand."
This is basically all we have about what to eat during the HCG diet's phase 3. No starch or sugar in any form! Does that eliminate all fruits and veggies? Not really. Simeons says to be careful with very sweet fruit, but doesn't outright ban it. But which fruits are considered too sweet? If sweet fruit is a problem, what about super starchy foods like potatoes?
We've done the research to find out which fruits have the highest sugar content, and which vegetables have a comparable amount of starch. Certain protein sources like legumes also fall into these categories. While not forbidden per se, these foods may violate Dr. Simeons' rules, especially if you're increasing your fat content at all (be honest, you will be increasing your fat content!). Introduce these foods only in small quantities—if at all—with careful attention to your morning weighing.
HCG Phase 3 Foods: Protein
With so many other protein sources available, it shouldn't be too hard to stay away from legumes for another three weeks. If you are eating meat or other protein sources that are relatively high in fat, all the more reason to stay away from beans and the other foods on this list.
1. Beans, including black, garbanzo, kidney, fava, lentils, lima, pinto, and white
HCG Phase 3 Foods: Vegetables
It's a sad fact of life that some of the most popular veggies happen to be those with the highest starch content. Carrots, corn, peas, and potatoes are absolutely loaded with starch, and you'll have to be really careful with them during HCG diet phase 3. They weren't forbidden by Simeons, and you can probably eat them in moderation in a meal with little or no fats, but it might be better to avoid them. Better safe than sorry.

HCG Phase 3 Foods: Fruits
Like the vegetables, some of the most popular and beloved fruits happen to be packed with carbs. While Dr. Simeons didn't oulaw them completely, he did say to be careful. Eat them with extreme caution, or avoid them completely.

19. Date, one
