What to Eat on the HCG Diet's Loading Days
During the HCG diet's loading days, you are supposed to eat to capacity the most fattening foods you can. Make the most of it! This is the only time you'll be told that overeating will actually help you lose weight!
The loading phase normally takes up the first two days of the HCG diet plan. During the HCG loading days you begin taking HCG drops. The purpose of the loading days is to help restore any missing fat reserves, which are often low in overweight people due to repeated dieting attempts. It also helps lessen hunger during the first week.
Most information about the HCG loading phase online will tell you to focus on foods high in fat while avoiding sugar. This is generally a good idea, but don't stress it. Dr. Simeons was actually very vague about what to eat during the HCG diet's loading days. His general rule was simply to eat as much as you can of the most fattening foods you can find. Sugar can be fattening, so it's a pretty decent choice. Other foods may be more fattening, and you can focus on them if you want to do a really good job on the HCG loading phase.
There is one case where Dr. Simeons became specific about what to eat during the loading phase of the HCG diet, and it's clear that it was mainly for psychological reasons. Sometimes he got a patient who thought that their stomach had shrunk after their extreme dieting restrictions. He first attempted to convince such patients of the medical fact that your stomach cannot shrink. If they insisted, however, he compromised by allowing them to focus on highly concentrated foods while presumably eating less than he would otherwise advise. Dr. Simeons recommended the following ideas:
- Bacon
- Bread with thick butter and jam
- Eggs
- Fried meats (particularly pork)
- Mayonnaise
- Milk chocolate
- Pastries with whipped cream sugar
Notice that most of these foods are high in fat, but some are also high in sugar.
Sample Diet for a Typical HCG Loading Day
When you wake up on the morning of your first HCG loading day, you should weigh yourself and take your first dose of HCG drops. Then get started with your first blissful day of gorging on whatever you want! Here are some good ideas of what you can eat.
Breakfast: Slather some fatty cream cheese onto a bagel. Cook up some bacon and sausage and follow it with a ham and cheese omelet.
Midmorning Snack: Spread some whipped cream on a donut, or get one from Krispy Kreme. Add some strawberries if you feel like you can fit them in.
Lunch: Eat a pork chop for the main dish with a baked potato and sour cream on the side. Try a roll with butter and/or some veggies with plenty of butter.
Afternoon Snack: Ice cream with Oreos. Or get a large shake from your favorite fast food place.
Dinner: Fettucini alfredo with cheesy garlic bread. Salad with avocado and full-fat dressing (of course!). Follow with cheesecake for dessert.
Late Night Snack: More ice cream, a frozen cappuccino, or a bag of potato chips. Then go to bed and look forward to your next HCG loading day (if you still can!).
